Whaikaha, Whaimana: Our Voices Count

The changes to the Disability Sector since March 2024 have been devastating for disabled people and whānau.

Disability Leadership Canterbury has been and will continue collecting your stories and experiences through a survey. We have used the data collected so far to tell your stories and show how the disability community continues to be harmed by these cuts, changes, and decisions.

We have also translated “Whaikaha, Whaimana: Our Voices Count” into an Easy Read format. It describes:

  • What happened

  • What works

  • What we want

You can read the report in either format by clicking the links below.

Whaikaha, Whaimana: Our Voices Count

The rally will be fun, visible, and powerful - a celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and a call for true flexible funding. Click the link for all the info about the day.
